not that this is necessarily an accurate representaion but...

i have played a few FPS's whree some of the sniper riffels shoot a .338 Lupa round, and they alway seem to own the shit out of whatever you are aiming at

so my question is what is the .338 Lupa exactly and does it really devastate all?

just for refference the prototype SR-8 sniper riffle fired a .338 Lupa

yeah, the .338 lapua is awesome because its ballistic coefficient is so damn good. better than .308, because it's longer. the bullet weights are more, but the weight is spread out over the length, rather than the width. and it'll punch through a little bit of steel plate, too. oh, and the trajectory is relatively flat, especially compared to .308.

You know why they call it Lapua? Because they can't write shit on the box.

J/K about this round. It is mean mean mean and very accurate to long ranges as well as having a great ability to reduce a human being to a red mist.
