So somehow I busted a few pins on the connector of my 30gb iPod video. It won't charge, sync, or play using my aux connector in my car. It's dead. Problem is I've spent the last year or so with the iPod in my car, ranking songs and building up my 'top ranked' playlist. I'm not willing to just go out and buy a new one without attempting surgery on this one.

I already broke off a pin trying to straighten it, so i was wondering if I could find another 30gb iPod video with a busted hard drive and just transplant my hard drive in there. Would that work? What gen do I have, and what gens could I successfully transplant into? Has anyone done this, and are there software ramifications, or is it just plug and play?

Lastly, if this won't work...anyone know where I can get this pin fixed for less than the price of a new iPod?
