depends on what its for. I wouldnt' go for a 300Z as a dd. I like the 204sx personally (I better seeing as I will be buying one soon), and  @ the thought of the SR20DET swap

300zx NA will get you no where, go with the 240sx and do the swap

The sr20det swap is more effort than its worth for that car. Granted, it might make a better daily driver though.

300 gets all the pimp points though I'm afraid. And the NA isn't slow, either.

It depends on what you want. Get the 240sx and go with the swap if you want a relatively light car with tremendous moding potential. On the other hand, if you're not planning to mod the engine of either car, you may want to stick with the Z for its nicer interior and larger stock engine.

modding the 240 might be easier if you've ever seen how much room there is in the engine bay of a 300zx tt. however, if you want fast right out of the box, then go with the z. good luck finding a 97-98 240 though. if you do happen to find any, it's probably a) way overpriced b) automatic.
