Man...I walked out on that shit
Good thing it was a free advance screening.
Was it really that bad? I was planning on seeing it tonight.
It was set up really well, with alot of very captivating shots of the barren snowscape. Once the vampires hit the scene, however, it got tired fast
oh shit say you're kidding!!! i was really looking forward to this movie. man i hope you're kidding or crazy cause i can't handle another let down with 2007 movies, damn this year has sucked for movies
my eagerness level for this movie just fell a few notches
Maybe I'm just crazy
To me, the substance level just fell right out the bottom, man. The early cinematography is so awesome, too
They almost rushed into the whole vampire scene way too quickly. Overall, I thought it was a good movie, but the story was really packed in too small.
dang it, multiple poor reviews. i had high hopes for this one, looked spooky as hell in the middle of nowhere cold as hell snow + vamps, oh man it looked good. this is the sort of thing that pisses me off about movies, they never seem to follow thru anymore, this sort of ruins my day lol, wow i need a life
Well, the graphic novel was even shorter than 300, so I can see why the story seemed that way. And it's supposed to take place in Barrow, AK. How exciting can that be? Knowing all this should be part of my consideration, I should think that this movie would still be "awesome" based on its previews. But damn, those are some bad reviews.
But I'm still seeing it tonight.
Dammit. I had really high hopes for this movie. I haven't seen a good vampire flick in quite a while.
damnit i was semi hyped for this movie o well
saw it tonight... very very disappointed....
i liked it, wasnt looking for an amazing movie, but it entertained me
Not only bringin back the boogeymen, but also bringing back making people scared of the dark!
Some very very nice kill themes (circle of torture with the young girl in a sweater and the changed little child girl), some scenes they kinda pussed out on by making us use imagination of a head falling off (maybe the unrated will include more), but they also really delivered on a few (the severed arm and axe to the head).
With a new hybrid movie monster (which I guess turned out to be a hybrid vamp) we learned the kill rules as they progressed. But at the same time I was kinda put off, these monsters were really smart and then at the same time they were also dumb, which came off to me as deliberate to carry on the movie.
Heroes were brave without being stupid which was nice. Heroes were also some cold blooded motherfuckers!
The filming style was top notch and production wise it came off as a real movie with drama... until the vamps hit the town. But I feel that was on purpose to pay homage to the choas that breaks out in old grindhouse style movies (Sam raimi's alma mater).
The cinematography was kept up throughout the movie with appropriate lens filters going from gray, to blue, to and gritty orange.
The snow was sharp, the blood vivid, thick and warm, the fire was engulfing and alive.
These are some cool monsters that you'll definitely be seeing at Halloween parties.
As usual OT red carpet is stupid with their movie reviews
Oh yeah the end really pissed me off! How dare they sink so low as to use a blade2 ending! but fuck that was only 30seconds.
However it was the last 30seconds!
im gonna see it based on your review
I liked it. I wasn't expecting a deep, thought provoking movie though. Great action flick, pretty good character development, not cheesie.
I recommend it.
I enjoyed it... I could have hoped for better but ah well. But as it was stated earlier, the vampires were introduced way to early on. The point that really ticked me off about the whole movie was the snowmobiles. Apparently vampires drank all the gas. I am no snowmobile expert by any means but an extra tank and a sled should get you pretty far amirite?
it was cool
i never read the novel so i'm a bit biased
the hero(es) being as ruthless was also cool
also people trying to keep their heads/staying alive (though some might think of it as slowing down the movie-i thought it set the tension of 'don't make a sound or go outside..or your FUCKED)
I thought it was good, I've read the comics beforehand and it wasn't a 100% straight adaption but was pretty close, they just changed some things around and added a little drama in.
Oh and walking out from a movie in a theater = .
"I'm going to make a statement about this movie! Watch me walk out from this movie because I'm going to make a HUGE STATEMENT about how I feel about this movie. Now I'm going to go wack off using my ego as lube!"
Almost every movie has plotholes if you look hard enough.
I thought it was great.
The ending was....ehh....but overall, the movie kicked ass.
It has a 7.7 on imdb.com
I'll probably go see it.
Or might wait til I can d/l an R5 of it.
That movie sucked soooooooooooooo much.
The vampires were retarded, everytime there was a shot of their face you coudlnt help but laugh, and you couldnt help but laugh harder when they talked or made that gay sound, they sounded like the aliens, they looked like faggot goth kids, they had a dumbass language.
Story wise, it was sooo stupid, no explaination about the vampires, the idiot that was arrested had no purpose whatsoever except to add some dramatic irony to the plot. It showed a total of 3 or 4 days out of 30.
The gore was lame, except one decapitation scene towards the end.
Possibly the gayest movie of 2007
so tell us your real feelings about the movie
