this picture was about 4 years ago, at roughly ~220, got up to around ~230 a year and a half later....

this is today, about 2.5 years after i started at 230....

    now i'm around 190ish...

dropped down to 170ish at one point and was quite a bit leaner, about to start leaning out again.

Good change, keep at it. I'd either cut or try to put on some more muscle as cleanly as possible

I would have expected more progress for 3 years, but there is a noticeable difference. Keep it up.

hard to tell from the angle of the pic. seems like your chest is lagging a lot compared to delts/arms.

well, figuring about a year and a half of that I didn't know what i was doing.... 3 years ago was the first time i ever touched a weight in my life. also, i'm 23 and still enjoy partying, and up until 6 months ago i was still at school (drinking 2-3 nights a week).

Start using an AI. It will help you lean out, depending on how clean your diet is.

i know this guy who's been lifting for 2.5 years and is extremely cut with a big ass chest. he's 6'1'' 195 ALL MUSCLE and his chest is probably his best feature and he just now is barely able to hit 225 so i don't see what your point is at all.

Doesn't look like you're even trying, bro. 3 years for that. Honestly, Id be embarrassed. Hit the weights HARDER.

    but progress is progress :h5:

nice progress...try training with higher intensity and hit the chest harder.

  25. that's ridiculous, working out doesn't have to turn into your life for you to have good results. Working out for an hour like 4 days a week , eating reasonably healthy food instead of junk food on a regular basis, etc. It's not like the majority of people who make good progress in the gym are eating 8-10 meals a day and working out 3 hours a day every single day of the week.
