American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu said in a research note obtained by The Mac Observer that Apple has sold out of the first 200,000 iPod shuffle units produced, and that the company "is positioned to gain double-digit market share (from zero percent) in the flash-MP3 space within a few quarters."

Perhaps more compellingly, Mr. Wu said that Apple has "arguably the industry's most powerful and complete stack of hardware, software, and service." This, he said, will help Apple capitalize on the move to digital music, which he called a multi-year trend.

    Other key points:

iPod shuffle is the price leader in both the 512 megabyte and 1 gigabyte space. "It is among the lowest priced (if not the lowest) in both 512MB and 1 GB storage capacity points," said Mr. Wu.
Mr. Wu praised Apple's logistical chain. "We believe an often-overlooked advantage that Apple has over most of its competitors is its world-class logistics supply chain and infrastructure that is arguably second only to industry leader Dell," he said.
Production of the iPod shuffle could increase to as much as 500,000 unit per month starting in March. According to his manufacturing sources in Taiwan, Apple has options to expand capacity still more if needed.

ipod photo has loads of capacity over the other ipod's, the photo feature is just an extra perk.

the eMac is an affordable all in one CRT, which, beleive it or not, graphics designers prefer for more tru-to-color as opposed to an LCD which isn't as good in reproducing the color of what is to be printed.

Saleswise, they might be duds, but...the concepts are there for people who use them...ie: if I'm a DJ and need 60 gig worth of space to transfer whatever...or if I'm working some serious pantone shizzle and need the best overall true output from a CRT screen all in one :hs:

Even though I have a 20 gig ipod, I might pick one up to throw my Janet Jackson collection on there for when I go jogging (About 120 of her songs) Not bad for 99 bucks...:coold:

I'm a graphic designer by trade. I do a good 12 hours of the stuff a day. Never in my life would I ever get an eMac.

And back to the point. He asked when was the last time Apple made products that didn't sell well and I just gave two good examples.

What about the Cube G4 a few years back? Now that was a product that never really caught on.

yeah, I think they deemed the cube a disaster in MacWorld but im not sure it was personal bias or an actual quote from the company.

Im glad to see Apple doing well with new products. Woot!
