not done with the processing, i've been looking at these WAY too fucking long today...

Gimme some feedback on what needs to be fixed when I start working on em tomorrow....

Overall impression of the shots would be nice too!

(fixed the highlight on the neck and blended the bruise a bit more since my first try...)

All look pretty good. I liked the first bruise better though. IMO that just looks like her face is dirty.

I like them, but I'd like to see them be a bit darker in terms of material/subject.... but technically they're good stuff

First looks really good. The others look to staged though. Something about them stands out.

    thanks guys!

The first two I really like, the 3rd i'm on the fents about.

The bruise is killing me in #2, but so far the only group of people that has called it out as fake are the people who know I faked it, so I guess that means it looks pretty good....

    Nice stuff. :h5:

I like the dramatic lighting. I'd try to tone done the blown highlights in the woman's hair in the first.

Also I'd try to keep working on the bruise in number two. Just see what else you can work with.

In the first shot, it would look much better if you reversed the intensity of the woman's hair and key light. You have too much hair light and not enough key light.

the second pic is nice but needs some dramatic light on the walls.

Same with the third. A light placed outside the blinds to create a shadow on the wall would be nice.

Otherwise nice job! Next time, pay just as much attention to lighting the set as the people. It looks like you could use another light or two.

    Jim,

    Thanks for the input!

In the first shot, i wanted the light to appear like she walked out of an illuminated area with the gun, like another room or a hallway in this case... I thought it would be more natural than having it look like she was on her way to entering a well lit room or hallway. It didn't make sense in my head on a realistic level to have the lighting reversed...

I did bring the forground subject down a bit in post, and I can undo that if you think it takes away?

I also do realize I need to bring down the blown areas of her hair. I have some other shots that were bracketed to contain detail there, so I might try and blend that in...

The other two shots were definitely limited by my lights. Sometimes you can't get what you need with two lights. I realized that in shot #2 real quick. So I just did what I could with it...

I think i know what it is about number 3....she's striking that "gazing off picture" which seems a little too broadway/overdone....given that its film noir i would have her looking down away from camera with a troubled look

I love the umbrella one, but I don't like the guy in the pic... he looks like a douche. If it was another guy, it would be spectacular. I think it's the chin that gets me.

They look like screen shots from old movies. Love the lighting on #2

Are you doing these shots just for fun or you get paid for them?

If the guy in post 12 was under the umbrella, it would be perfect. These remind me of sin city, and the umbrella one reminds me of heroes with peter patrelli and simone under the umbrella

That is a better shot of him, but I dunno.. I just don't think I like that guy. For some reason I imagine he speaks with a nasal overtone... or something... The shots and setup are great... but I just don't like that guy. Loving the series though, keep em coming.
