I just recently got a tattoo on my foot on friday. Its gotten itchy and red like the normal healing process, but I've noticed that its raised up almost like its "3-D." I was just wondering if this is normal for a foot tattoo because of where its at and the lack of fat/flesh? :dunno: The tattoo looks normal and doesn't seem to be infected or anything, it may just be the scab. It is also getting itchy and red all the way down to my toes and its about an inch away from them. Any advice on the healing process for foot tattoos would be appreciated. :)

Like I said it looks normal, but if you run your fingers over it its raised off my foot. You can see a little bit from this picture but not much. You'd have to touch it to see what I mean.

Every time I've had work done it does this, the raised feeling is my favorite. I wish it would stay that way.

i'm no expert, i only have one tattoo. there are a few spots on mine, mostly the outline in black, that still feel raised up to this day. i thought i heard somewhere that tattoos feel raised when the artist presses too hard with the needle and goes too deep into the skin.

I actually have two ideas right now for the next two tattoos I want, but dunno which one I want to get next. I want to get a fairy sitting in a flower on my lower back. She'll cost a pretty penny so I may wait to get that one. But the one I was thinking of is I want to get a picture of Stewie from Family Guy. I know that sounds weird but he is my all time favorite and I want a fun tattoo :) I just dunno where to put him. I have my foot done and I have a butterfly on my left shoulder blade, and the fairy is going on my back. Any suggestions? I really don't want it on my ankle nor my stomach, but I've been thinking about my upper thigh? Is that a good spot?

The raised feeling is going down and its starting to peel :bigthumb: It itched like a bitch so the peeling is a relief :)

I think the healing process is worse than actually getting the tattoo. I can't stand when things itch!

I have two tattoo's covering both feet. I've noticed that they heal a lot different than regularly placed tattoos. When I would have to wear shoes I would cover the tattoo in saran wrap to keep it from rubbing and becoming irritated. If possible try to wear sandals as much as you can. I have a tattoo on the back of my neck that I can still feel the lines and its been over three years. It will become extremely itchy and a little redness is normal

This is my tattoo when I first got it done about four years ago. Since then I have added writing to the bottom. I am trying to look for a picture.
