This is the motor that they use in the Ute they make in australia? Its about time they decided to step it up a notch. Now if they would only have done years back, they wouldn't be stuck where they are.

loosk nice, but the mustang should have a V8 on principle. though a special edition with that would be

Would be interesting to see the mustang with a TT v6, would give them a product for the "no turbo no care" crowd. But I really don't see it doing all that great, the old SVO's didn't seem to.

Australia uses an Inline 6 not a V6. And theirs are 4.0.

Ute's are just a type of vehicle, not just a badge.

It sounds like a great idea to me. A motor that idles like a V6 and accelerates like a V8 (or a V12, once the modders get their hands on it).

Too bad most people will think the engine is shitty just because of a little turbo lag.

he "the Ute" which made it sounds like the specific model, not general type of vehicle

I'll take a 400 hp N/A V8 that gets 12 mpg over a 400 hp TT V6 getting 16 mpg any day of the week.

Because you're an idiot, I presume?

Why the hell would you not want a smaller, lighter engine with fewer moving parts that makes the same power and torque while getting better gas mileage? You do realize what you just said is "I'd rather have the inferior product"?

  14. You're full of stupidity today. You think a TTv6 has fewer moving parts than a NA V8? You have a shitload more complexity (and stuff to go wrong) with a TT setup, You have to control boost, intercool it, run 2 turbos, pipe oil to them, and find space to pacakge all of this shit. I bet you a TTv6 setup, with all of the shit that goes with it weighs more than a simple V8, not to mention the V8 would be cheaper, more reliable, easier to work on, make more AVERAGE power and torque, easier to fit into an engine bay, and, if set up right, be as fuel efficient. idiot.

Our ute engine is 4.0L inline 6, single turbo... Its not just in the ute model either, its in the whole ford lineup. Including the 4 door, plus the territory SUV.

Yeah, but I'm assuming there's gonna be a healthy cost difference between the mod 4.6 and a TT 3.5 V6 to make up for it.
