God I cannot fucking wait.... we finally finished up the full size design today and we are going to start my full back on the 26th. The entire piece is going to encompass my back, butt, back of the legs, 1/2 sleeves and chest panels. His work is getting so fucking dope as of late (it was always good, but his most recent pieces are :bowdown:)

And I know this post is kind of pointless, I'm just so excited I can't even sleep :wtc:

Some of his relatively recent work:

He charges 175 per hour of tattooing. No charge for creating the design or prep work, you only pay for the time that he is actually tattooing you.

Yeah it aint going to be cheap, but this is going to be my first and only tattoo. There are certain things in life that you should never skimp on: your guns, anything permanent with your body (surgeries, tattoo's, etc), and your woman. Other than that, I am one jewish motherfucker.

And another reason why it is going to take so long is that I'm a big motherfucker. I'm like 6'2", bout 295, so he has a large canvas :)

    :hsugh:

You might want to ''tighten'' up a little bit before.

    :bigthumb:

Any idea what the theme is going to be?

I'm "tightening" up for other reasons, mainly for the ability to live past 40.

And the center piece is going to be:

And all around it is going to be hell. The couple in the middle ignoring the evil around them and just enjoying the moment, kind of the way I want to live my life.

Thanks for the compliment, as far as I know it is an original design; although I can definitely see Boris Vallejo's influence on the piece. I also posted this image in another tattoo thread a while back so you may have seen it there.

All of the demons will be in effect trying to get to the couple in the middle. They will be lurking in the shadows, in between the flowers, and in essence trying to get between (metaphorically speaking) the man and woman who are embracing each other. We plan on casting the couple in a warm glow of light (oranges with red and yellow undertones, similar to the tattoo of the pregnant woman above), with a ball of energy on her chest with light radiating out (this is just the smaller sketch, he has it fully drawn up on a full size piece of paper with all of the detail). The flower will have similar coloring but with purple and blue undertones with green highlights.

Thanks for the compliments, and as far as when it's going to be done, I honestly have no idea. I plan on getting into law enforcement (another motivator to get in better shape) so it may be put on hiatus while I am in the academy. As I said earlier it will probably be about 60-70hrs worth of tattooing, and after the first marathon session where we are going to try and get all of the outlining on (for the center piece that is, we aren't going to start the hell scene until the center is done) the remaining sessions will be in 2-3 hour chunks. Adrian said that he doesn't like to tattoo for longer than that and who am I to argue. I'm going to be going in every 3 weeks/month so I figure 2+ years until it is completely done.

2-3 hour sessions are short for a big body piece like that, wonder why..

The person said they will be trying to get all the line work done at one time.... 2-3 hour color sessions sounds fine to me? I'd go 4 or more myself.. But ya w/e works..!!

BTW I can't wait to see what this work of art turns into!! The sample pics are awesome.

He said that he only feels, and I'm paraphrasing, "artistically fresh" for a few hours at a time. I guess he looses his focus if he works on a piece longer than that. I would prefer 4-5hr sittings but since it is something permanent I'm not going to argue.

I will definitely be posting progress pictures along the way, I'll probably just make a thread and bump it with new pics every so often. I are excited!!11!1 (sorry, nerded out there for a sec) :)
