and $29 on the 4th year and beyond. Go on their website's main page for the deal. I called a counselor there, and he said that the $29 applies to the 5th year and beyond as well - they could only increase it as high as 5% for inflation every year after the 4th. You might want to make sure that this is true though on the contract if you decide to sign - the website isn't very specific on it.

    I think this ends Monday.

Not a bad deal. I go to 24 hour fitness now and it's ok except for they don't have power-lifting. I want to start doing deadlifts.

I Deadlift all the time there when I go there. Hex plates can suck my balls though.

24/month is good enough.... I don't need to get locked in for 3 years if something goes wrong and I can't lift or find a better gym.

Not the best gym out there, but it's a good deal.

And yeah, I deadlift at 24 too.

you can deadlift there. just take a bar off a squat rack and put it on the floor nearby...

the bar will shift because of the retarded plate designs, but if you wedge in some 5-lb plates on the ground to hold it in place, it will stay in the same spot when you set it down.

well i figure it's good for the long term. i agree that all the 24 hour fitness clubs i've been too are pretty shitty. 600 does sound like a lot, but if i'm still at this lifting game 10 years down the line, i'd be happy paying $29/year for it, even if i have another gym i go to. it's a good backup for latenight lifting. my sucky bally's gym closes at 11pm on the weekdays and 9pm on weekends.

I'll try it again at a different gym. I tried doing it once and some bitch yelled at me. Now that I think about it it might be because that gym is above offices and crap. There's also a older 24 hour close to me that still has the old round plates.

I don't like 24 hour but it's the only gym I know of in Seattle, Bellevue, Vancouver, Vegas. They're building a new LA fitness near me so that place would work but I went to the one in Vancouver and it seemed like the kinda place where if you are there for anything besides pilates you aren't welcome.

    24hr crew:wavey:

this is the same plan i jumped on a year ago. the one in oakland here is ok because not many are familar with the power rack or squat rack. its a bitch to get ahold of a bench though. chose 24 because its cheaper and fits my needs/shedule. definately not a gym for PLing. i get the craziest looks wearing a bench shirt. squared plates ftl

Granted 24hour Fitness is not fancy by any means, you can still get a good amount of work done there.

they're banking on the fact that a majority of people who sign up stop going after a year and have to keep paying b/c of contract.

if you are seriously gonna keep lifting, it's a good deal.
