    Okay! After spending an hour or so researching the kits, I think I'm going to go for the Advantage Arms target model. I found it on sale for $269 but currently out of stock. Else retail is $299. Main advantages are as follows:

    * SLIDE LOCK-BACK
    * Excellent online reviews
    * Not made by Ceiner
    * Looks much nicer than Ceiner
    * Mags are much cheaper than Ceiner

    Only downsides are no 15-round mags and the price. And apparently it's kinda finnicky about ammo. CCI mini-mags are its favorite from what I hear.

    Even if it's out of stock I won't be home to shoot it for another 2½-3 weeks so I'm not in a big hurry. I'll be sure to post a range report afterwards. :)

    I've heard they're supposed to be pretty good. FWIW I love my Ceiner.

    True. I haven't read about anyone particularly dissatisfied with their actual Ceiner PRODUCT. Just that the dood is a shithead with the worst CS in the world and I really don't want to support that. Also - I love the lockback feature. IMO that's important if you're going to be training with it and not just plinking. :)

    As much as the lockback is a pain, it's just an excuse to practice other means of malfunction type drills

    i was going to get a 22 conversion for my ar but decided it might be more fun to just go ahead and buy another gun. so thats what i did and ended up with a 10/22 for what i would have paid for the ciener kit

    It's cool, thanks for looking bro.

    Panzer - it's a simple as swapping the slide / barrel assembly. And magazine. As long as you don't have a FLGR probably 15 seconds. :coold:

    i have shot an advantage arms conversion on a glock 17... and it was a real prick with ammo... i coudnt get through one whole mag without it stove-piping or something.

    when it did shot it was pretty damn accurate tho

    WELL. It arrived yesterday! Pretty fancy plastic case it came in, too.

    Only one pic. My wife just left for two weeks and she took the camera so unfortunately this is all I've got. I'm going to take it to the range soon and I'll give y'all a report afterwards. :bigthumb:

    Well. I finally got to the range today!

    A few notes:

    1) Install is not QUITE as easy as just pulling the old slide and putting this one in. At least in my gun. Two reasons - first, the kit comes with its own slide stop, and unfortunately it doesn't snap right in like the regular one does, it takes a little work. Second, there is a little wrench that they recommend you tighten down the FLGR with. Maybe the non-target model doesn't have this. I dunno.

    2) Even though they advertise these as 10-round magazines, they all took 11 rounds. :dunno:

    3) They recommend CCI mini-mags, so I spent $22 on 400 of those. But I also had part of a brick of CCI Blazer left over. In all I probably shot 250 rounds and I had a very few misfeeds. It didn't seem to care about ammo between the two.

    4) This kit is fun as hell to shoot due to the minimal recoil.

    5) Accuracy seemed pretty darn good. I'm sure the kit outshoots *me*. At 5 yards I kept all the shots on a regular-sized Post-It note.

    6) Front sight is too tall to fit in my holster. :(

    I'll post some more pics later. Unfortunately my wife is out of town with the camera for another week.
