:dunno: They're almost the same price. Each have their advantages and disadvantages.

I say get the new gun. They're great and have a good aftermarket for custom parts.

Conversion kit, that way you have the .45 still if you want a big gun to shoot.

EDIT I am looking at these.. was reading online.. do the conversion kits have jamming problems? The didnt mention any problem in the guns and ammo I read.
I can get a Ruger 22/45 for like $240 to my door.

    this is something to consider.

Fuck Bill Ruger, buy the conversion, or buy a Buck Mark.

What's wrong with Ruger? The Mk II gets much better reviews than the Buck Mark. :dunno:

I like the 22/45 but I think when I get a .22 pistol, I'll either go for a P22 or a Mosquito. The Mosquito looks sexy and the P22 is cheap enough where I can spend a little more and throw on a can.

I looked at buying .22 conversion kits for my beretta and 1911. From what I've read online, none of the conversions liked the 500 rd. valuepacks of ammo that you can buy at walmart, of any brand. People couldnt get them to run reliably with them, with both factory kimber and beretta kits, and with cieners. I decided to just buy a Ruger MKII. It'll eat anything I feed it. Paying ~$250 for a new .22 that will eat anything is alot better than paying ~$250 for a conversion kit that will only eat "expensive" .22's.

I see that, but you can also look if your budget it tight.. $5 for 100 for the expensive .22lr is still cheaper than the $25 for 100 .45acp

Where you looking at Ruger Mark II/III's I am still on the fence and need to see if I can stretch my budget some more.

Eew. That mosquito is as butt-ugly as all the other Sigs & Glocks. At least the Rugers look nice. :hs:

Academy Sports had the 22/45 for $287; I'm going to another shop in town in a bit to see what they have. I found it online for $240. Probably + shipping to a FFL and whatever he charges. :o

    pic.

I drove around to a few stores today. Nobody had one although one guy said he just sold a lightly used one for $195. I was unhappy that it was gone. He could order me a new one for $241+tax. :dunno: We'll see.
