i dont know if this has been asked before, but im asking away since theres not alot of new topics, and 2, i dont have a search button.

for the .22lr, im having problems understanding ammo categories. can someone explain the diffrences of these:

    match
    target
    subsonic
    high velocity

    im so confused.

Match - extremely high quality, good quality control
Target - not quite as good as match
Subsonic - low velocity, suppressors work best with this
High Velocity - like it says, 1250-1450fps or so

Subsonic are usually good groupers. When a bullet is above the sound barrier and drops below it, it has to deal with the turbulence that comes along with it. Subsonic ammo never gets above the sound barrier so in turn will not change trajectory (as small as it would be.)

Shorter barrels are also good for dropping the velocity. I've only ever used target ammo. But I hear good things about Wolf Match Target. My stock barrel used to love CCI mini mags (I think those are Hi-vel), but since I got my GM bbl, I can't even cycle it.

don't feel like a moron. no-one can know everything. you did the smart thing by asking instead of talking out of you ass like alot of ppl. no shame in asking for info you don't have.

yeah, my stock barrel loves mini mags, i think its cuz of the wax they use. since your aftermarket barrel doesnt cycle it, what do you use?

When I bought a bunch of .22LR the Wolf grouped as some of the best. That stuff is actually quality.

I love the CCI Mini-Mags now that I've been shooting them. They've got a little more pop to them than the cheap wal-mart stuff I've been shooting.

:werd: I had more FTF, FTE with that ammo than with the WWB $7 for 500 at wal-mart.

I use CCI Blazer for plinking. Its not the cheapest of the cheap, but my gun loves it. I get it for 1.59 for a box of 50 or 15.90 for 500.

Once I get my new scope I'll try some of the premium ammo.

CCI Blazer plink groups at 50 yards. Not that bad, but It can be better. I was pretty happy with the best grouping there bottom-right. After that, I started shooting like shit and realized my take down screw came undone. No locktite FTL

i bought that stuff over break and i absolutely hated those rounds. the case would get caught by the bolt every 2-3 rounds. it was annoying:squint:
