Went ahead and ordered 1,000 rounds from sportsman's guide, at the end of September knowing they were back ordered. But it said the estimated ship date would be the 16th of October, logged in today to check the order status, and it said estimated ship date is now the 27th of November.

So I'm looking for cheap ammo again, any suggestions besides the sticky on arfcom that always has out of date info?

I have the following to feed my rifle (when it gets here):

    2,000rds 55gr Federal XM193
    1,000rds IMI 55gr .223 (same people who make Q3131A)
    500rds Black Hills 62gr BTHP
    180rds Federal XM855

I don't plan to feed it Radway Green, Wolf, or Adcom because I've read too many threads/posts about them causing problems (FTE, FTF, KB, etc); My philosophy is, "why cheap out on ammo in a $1,200 rifle?"

if anything, that's the PD version. Which should be fine, as long as you go through to inspect each round.

If you want cheap, get wolf. If you want cheaper quality plinking stuff, get some Federal American Eagle.

I prefer M193 as it is, overall, the better round. The Ammo Oracle is a great resource.

every barrel will be different, but odds are, it should be fine. Only way to find out for sure it to shoot it through your barrel and find out.

Shoots great out of my BM 1:9. Also, on BM's website, they list the 75gr ammo shooting fine.

yeah. should be putting it on stripper clips anyways so inspecting each round isnt an issue. I ordered 1k of 193 a year or so ago and i picked through all of it while i put it on clips, took me less than half an hour to go through all of it. Worth the time for cheap ammo.

Dented necks/shoulders, set back bullets (if you can't see the cannelure) and major dents in the brass.

Even though XM193 (non-PD) is pretty reliable, I hand-check every round.

bingo. anything like a minor dent or ding is fine for practice ammo, just dont use it to count your life on.

i dont see the point of doing all that, when you can just buy AE for the same price. And it's 1st tier commercial grade. Especially since it's only for plinking.
