    PD is tier 3 ammo.
    For example: M193 Not available.
    XM193 Boxed
    XM193PD loose packaged

IF you have 50 extra dollars, buy the real M855 ammoman has. Good 5.56 nato ammo won't be easy cheap to find or a while. So buy it while you can. I was talking to a MT sports distributer at the local gun store I go to and he won't be getting anymore Xm193 boxed till june.

    They're quality control rejects
M193 is what the military gets
XM193 is boxed up rejects that didn't quite pass QC for M193, maybe a slight ding in the brass or what not
XM193PD didnt pass the muster for being boxed up, maybe big dents in the case, split necks, not properly seated, etc.

I would avoid the PD stuff your better off with Wolf, if you do buy the PD, inspect each round before using it! There have been a few AR15's that blew up shooting this stuff.

Wolf is pretty much just made for export sales, its made on the same equipment that made ammo for russian military(depending on caliber), so I guess if you were to classified it the same way it would be M or XM, of the thousands of rounds of wolf I've shot I've never had a bad round, all have been seated properly, no splits, not even any dents in the case(untill my ak's ejected it anyway :mamoru:) occasionally you'll get a round with a noticable inconsitent charge compared to the rest, wolf now has there gold series making NATO stamped brass cased 5.56 ammo, haven't tried that out yet though.

General rule, when you come across ammo thats sold loosley, its probably QC rejects, I had a real bad experience with IMI ammo, which most people will tell you is great ammo, I got it packaged loosley and had dozens of rounds that I picked out that were to dangerous to use, mostly improperly seated I'd tap on the bullet and it would fall inside the case :eek3: a few also had some cracks in the case neck. Would I buy loose stuff again? Yeah if the price is right it is reloadable so I will get some brass out of it, the stuff that I didn't set aside generally worked ok, with a few FTE, I paid what I would of paid for a case of Wolf for them, with Wolf they all would of gone bang but I wouldn't of had any brass to reload so it was a trade off, if I didnt save my brass I think I'd just avoid the hassle and buy wolf over loose stuff.

The last case of 1,000 rounds of Wolf I shot I had no problems at all. I guess my problems early on were simply because my rifle still had to break itself in.

:werd: I've never had any issues with Wolf, yeah it aint the most accurate stuff, yeah its dirty but its always functioned for me. With a new gun you could run into some troubles with any type of ammo till all the parts get worn in. I'm eager to test out this new brass cased wolf but noones got it in stock yet and its pretty damn pricey for Wolf but maybe it'll come down a bit once everyone gets wolf all back in stock.
