I'm looking for two pistols, and would like some feedback on a brand name.

    A)
    1) .223 / 5.56mm pistol, like the one Kel Tec has.
    2) small concielable one, unknown caliber (but one the wifey can shoot)

    B) Does anyone have a Kel Tec firearm, and if so, are they good, bad, or otherwise?

    Thanks!

Two separate questions. One, a .223 pistol, like the one Kel-Tec has. Two, a discreet profile pistol my wife can fire. And what does everyone think of Kel-Tec as a brand.

    oh.

I've seen some single shot break barrel type .223 pistols before. I believe Ruger made them? :dunno: A google search for .223 pistol yeilded nothing but AR-15 stuff.

Kel-Tec as a brand is pretty good for the price. Their fold up rifles are pretty cool.

  5. Kel-tec is fine if you want something tiny and concealable. They're not really nice, and from what I hear they're not very durable. There are other manufacturers that make very compact guns, and you'll pay more for them, but you're getting better quality.

I really don't see the purpose of a .223 pistol like kel-tec makes, but if you want it, that's up to you.

no I think its made by Ruger or something. He was asking about .223 pistols and thats the only one I can think of outside of the Kel-Tec posted already and obvious AR15 variations.

  10. I don't think Ruger makes any break barrel pistols. Are you thinking of a Thompson/Center?

No.... You don't want one of those.

Why the fuck would you want one of those?

Get a rear grip XP-100 if you are wanting a pistol chambered in rifle calibers.

    thx for all the advice.

I may just go ahead and get another AR-15. At least now I can get one with all the "evil" stuff on it (my last one was bought during Clinton's reign).

As for a small pistol, I'll probably go with one of the Kel-Tecs.

You might check out something like the walther pps if you want a smaller auto, its thin, has changeable backstraps and stuff like that.

Keltec's guns are what I would call....I suppose unpolished is the polite word. I've owned multiple keltecs and don't think I'll probably buy anymore, just too much hassle.

Thanks for all the advice. Fairly thin is good for what I'm looking for in a pistol. Common caliber is also good. I just don't want to be storing ten different kinds of ammo for 10 different guns... kinda stupid. Still, I would like to find a decently small pistol that shoots the .223 REM . Aside from that, I'm open to suggestions on the pistol. Just want it to be something I can work with while it's on a holster.

I don't think the end is near, but it's not the end actually being near that is at issue- it's the panic created by OTHER people thinking the end is near. While they're all clawing each others eyes out, I'd like to be sipping tea and playing Scrabble.
