At this rate I'll be able to comfortably afford a real rifle this spring. I was initially drawn to a .223 AK because I wanted to use .223 ammo but not have to deal with cleaning something like an AR every 200 rounds. Arsenal Inc. has a beautiful synthetic-furniture side-folder that runs about $700. But the AR-180 is cheaper, and has a cool novelty factor.

Anyone here shot both? Let's pretend money is no object when comparing the two. I just want something that I'm not going to have to spend a whole lot of time cleaning. I have a friend with an AR, it isn't pretty. :mamoru:

Still have to clean an AK. Esp if you shoot corrosive ammo.

If you shoot, you'll have to clean anyways. AR, AK, or anything.

I got a 100% bushy lower, and Oly 9mm upper, and a 16" A2 upper I'm debating on selling or keeping.

I know that, I just don't want to have to do it ever 2-300 rounds. The AR's gas system is retarded.

By any chance is the Bushy lower a preban? As in made before 1994? If so, I may be interested in buying it.

Been pretty happy with my SLR106FRs so far. The trigger sucks ass, only real negative.
Heres one dressed up as a aks-74, and one with just the muzzle device changed to ARM1 style. Both have ak74 mags pictured with them. With Robarms .223 followers, they work flawlessly. I have the clear 30s from KVAR as well, which are sweet.[IMG]

Its this new two stage they came out with. Its completely out of place on the rifle. The first stage is really really light, and the second stage is like 9lbs. I am replacing with the regular bulgarian trigger set.

the "F" denotes a sidefolder, the "FR" denotes folding stock, side rail (as in the optics siderail)
