What is everyones recommendation for a scope for my .22. ITs a mossburg 42, pictured below. The scope is held on from the side (my uncle did it) and the scope he put on it is pretty crappy. I mainly do 40yd cans and 50yd targets, so something for that would be good. Also, not to expensive, so please post prices, or if you have one for sale let me know.

that looks good, but i really dont need something with that much magnification. Right now i only have a 4x, and Ive used my friend 4-9x w/ good results, so either of those magnitudes seem to be in the range I need.

Believe it or not, but I busted the crosshairs on an expensive Redfield a few years back.

It was mounted on my 10/22 and had problably seen close to 30,000 rounds. One day I was out plinking and I noticed that the crosshairs snapped in the middle. It was repaired for free, but I have since moved the scope to my 7mm mag.

I think the constant springish recoil finally took its toll on the thing.

thats crazy... i've had a cheap ass 3-9x bushnell on my savage 22 and it's lived through something like 15000-20000 rounds and still holds zero.
