Looking to get a .22 for some cheap range fun and wanted some suggestions. I've looked at rugers, and they seem to be highly regarded, but breaking one down seems to be a chore. Are there any other .22 pistols that are good?

I've put a couple thousand rounds through my P22 without any problems. It's a fun little gun to plink around with. It is a little picky with the ammo though, It loves the more expensive Federal and hates the cheap Remington

The ruger is fun, the p22 is not bad, but a little small.

The sig is a good time, but can be finicky with ammo.

The neos is great, although some people have issues with its styling.

The sig sees the most range time, then the neos, then it's even between the MkIII & the p22, but I don't really have any complaints about any of them.

Once you get the hang of the Ruger disassembly it isn't hard anymore. They are the most reliable .22 semi-auto you are going to find.

Size of the gun doesn't really matter to me since I have smaller hands. However I can't have a gun that is picky with ammo since that kinda defeats the purpose of cheap range fun.

Rugers are hard to field strip IF you don't closely follow the instructions. The instructions are very clear and there should be no confusion as long as you read them. I know I'm the kind of person who doesn't read instructions and wants to figure it out myself :o My mistake the first time I tried to put my MKIII back together.

After I got that sorted out, I love mine. It always comes with me when I go shooting.

The only type of ammo my Ruger doesn't like is those Winchester X-Perts (which is what is in the picture :hsugh:). Will get 1 or two fail to feeds because of their weird bullet shape. Everything else works great. I usually just buy American Eagle HPs because all my .22s like them and they are pretty cheap.

I love my ruger, but putting that thing back together is one big pain the ass for me.

I have a buckmark camper, only costed 220$ from gander mountain new so it was a great price, havent had any problems with it yet. I don't have too much experience to compare it to other .22s except for the p22 which my friend has... the camper is much more accurate since it has the longer barrel

I've shot a p22 and even for a small gun and my big hands it was a good fit. Small but comfy.

I held the neos and it felty very cheap and top-heavy, if it werent for that i would have bought it instead of the buckmark because of the longer barrel

Buddy is picking up a .22 on friday, he's really interested in the p22. I'll post up his decision at that point. I'd really like to get one myself, 22 ammo is so fucking cheap!

I can't find a cheap p22 anywhere. At least not the newest gen. Even the used ones Ive see in Fresno are like $350. I was quoted almost 500 out the door for a new 5" barrel

I bought a Buck Mark for my boy. It's never jammed on me or him. Great pistol for the price.

I have an old Ruger Mark 1, it is really accurate, and I have never had a misfire or any sort of problem with it.
