Can I get some advice on these?

What's the best way to do one? I have heard it is advisable to have a notched hammer?

Should I just put together an entire gun, or is it good enough to just use my standard AR lower?

Is just dropping a conversion bolt in my existing upper good enough? I've dicked with other people's stuff in my gun and it worked OK, but, there seems to be other options, for which, I assume there is some benefit.

    Thanks.

:dunno: Just for the value I would get the .22lr bolt, you can't go wrong for $200ish.

4.5" 1:12 barrel which keeps most stuff subsonic. It's just a .22 kit so I can use it with my 10.5" upper too.

what barrel/upper? you just use your CMMG kit with it then.

I could modify my tax stamp to go lower than 10.5".....

It's a Colt barrel I got really cheap and a YHM FF rail and YHM upper. I think I put it together for under $200 plus the cost of the .22 kit.

I haven't heard of a need to change out the hammer. My dedicated .22 upper (built with a CMMG conversion) is sitting on a regular Bushmaster lower with standard parts kit. Haven't had a single failure to feed or fire in almost 1000 rounds.

Making a form 1 can out of that FF tube would be so fucking cool.

I don't even know if that is possible.

Maybe someday. It's pretty quiet with a can on it as is and the can sticks out about an inch from the tube.

We put a couple rounds of .223 through it yesterday, it was quite concussive.

I'm still waiting on a transfer for a YHM SS mite, wasn't my first choice but it was under $200 :o

I've been using a couple friend's .22 cans recently, it's damn quite with 40gr ammo.

    Mite's a good can.

For a little bit there, people thought it might be the quietest on a pistol. It's since been eclipsed by the new AAC offerings and whatnot but for <$200? Shit yeah.

Thanks for all the advice in this thread, guys. I will probably just get a CMMG conversion bolt for my current gat and see how that works.

I have a gassing issue right now, my SBR wouldn't cycle today. I think that it moved slightly from top dead center while I was clamping it down, since I don't have a dimpled barrel. Gonna check it out tomorrow.

Shot really good while handcycling it though. :d

I had a couple initial problems with my CMMG kit but I got one of the first ones and I think they have fixed all the problems by now. Either way, I had it back to me in under a week and they paid shipping both ways during November when I'm sure they were busy with trying to fill orders and whatnot.

What barrel mfg and what length?
