The rear sight on my Ruger 22/45 has been slowly moving over to the right. Not like the sight adjustments are changing but the whole sight is moving to the right out of the groove in the barrel.

How do you adjust it to move it back? Never had to do this before and all the smiths around here are backed up so it would be like a freaking Month to get anything done at all.

Rubber or small brass mallet. Should just move back with some light taps.

    K, just did it.

I loosened what seemed like a screw to help hold the sight still (small one next to the elevation adjustment) and then used my room mates rubber mallet to tap it back into place. Tightened the screw back into place. I hope it holds for now. The gunsmith said it would be 2 to 4 weeks to get it back if I left it there... they have over 1000 guns because they're so backed up with all the Katrina firearms they're working on.
