What do you guys think about the new 2008 WRX?
I drove one today and it was pretty cool. Looking to buy one but don't want to get it and be stuck wanting the STI.

I went in looking for a used but the new ones are pretty reasonably priced. It is between that and a Used 350z. I found an 05 that is real nice.

Rex and thupercar are almost polar opposites. Gonna have to figure out what you are really looking for.

And you will want the STi, but I would wait a few months after they come in or you'll get raped at the dealership. I bet they'll be a hot ticket item.

  3. I think the new ones are painfully ugly. But between one of those and a used 350z I'd take the WRX without hesitation. If you are on a budget I'd look for a used STi though. I like the 04-07 body style a lot more than the coming one. There are a ton of aftermarket possibilities for the older ones too, and everyone knows what works and what needs to be addressed. With the coming STi everyone's starting from square one again.

Thought the same thing until I saw it in person. Looked better sitting in front of me in real life versus on a magazine page/computer screen.

Yea I found an 04 STI locally that I might go take a look at tomorrow.
I think even though it may have been raced a bit(what STI owner wouldn't have) it is made to take it so it should be alright. Still under warranty anyway.
I know if I got the WRX I would regret not going with an STI so I think I will leave it out. Besides, insurances sucks on a 2008 vehicle.:o

I really didn't like the looks of them online, but in person, and driving them, they are much nicer.

The new Legacy looks pretty hot, I like the rear on it.

All I have to say is compression test! I did a compression test on a friends STi before he sold it so the new owner whom was out of state could see the results. His results were unlike most you will find. They were perfect and at the upper end of the spectrum. So whomever bought his car ended up with a very healthy motor.

On any car that is usually heavily modded and ragged on from Honda's, Mistubishi's, Subaru's, Toyota's, etc. you really should do a compression test before you make the purchase. That's just my :2cents:

I'll right up a how too shortly and link it. However, if you think it's out of your realm of possibility you could always pay a mechanic to do one.

Subaru needs to fire their designers. It looks more like a Corolla than a Subaru. And it costs more this year.

definitely WRX over 350z. the looks of the 08's bother me the most but I am biased with my love for the 06-07 body style. But if you do buy used, definitely get it checked out first.

Really, the MS3 has AWD now? I prefer the new WRX sedan over the hatch myself, I really don't like the back end of the hatch.

if I didn't need practicality and lived in da souf, I'd pick a 350z over a rex

    I agree.
Went and drove a friends vehicle for him yesterday, I forgot how slow everything else is compared to this.

The WRX is definetly more practical but the 350Z is a better performing car. You need to figure out what you want out of the car...
