My younger brother has a 2007 Volkswagen Passat sedan. Without premium audio and without navigation.

He wants to upgrade the sound system in it. New HU, new interior speakers, add a sub setup. He wants to keep it around $1200-1300 for everything.

What should I tell him to do? In what order? Install ourselves or have it done? etc. etc.

should have gotten the oem dynaudio premium upgrade, it's extremely good, and probably around the same price as what he's now going to spend.

Believe me, I know. That's what I said. I'm still going to help him it's just a pain in the butt.

check the classifieds on caraudio.com for some equipment. some pretty good deals on there if you don't mind used.

Buy the Bentley service manual. Trust me, you will need it for more than this in a few years.

I've got the premium/tech package with premium dynaudio 10 or 12 speakers in my 08 t-reg. it's fucking amazing, especially for OEM.
