2007 USAPL Longhorn Open meet report Lifting: Squat: 237.5 247 257-556 pounds Bench: 152.5 - 335 167.5 missed twice Deadlift: 237.5 257 266.5 – 585ish missed I think the totals is like 1436 or soemthing, its like a 80 pound PR My training went good up to the meet with the exception of deadlift, I had not been doing so good with it, I came real close to getting my third, and I think ti was more of not using proper technique than a strength issue. But still, It should have been an easy pull for me, and it was not. Regardless, I got qualified for nationals, and I know I need to work on just getting stronger. This may sound like a DUH type of thing, but I just need more raw strength across the board. As far as my experience with sheiko: I know that I can not pull even moderately heavy all the time, my deadlift goes to shit really fast. I knew this before I started Sheiko, but I still anted to give it a try, I thought only lifting three times a week may have helped. high volume squatting and benching worked really good, even though I missed my second and third benches, I think I was just being a fuck tatrd and not staying in the groove, my first bench felt really good, the second two felt like I had no power out of the bottom, which for me is synonymous with not using a bench shirt correctly, as I had got this weight in practice before. I really like doing two lifts a day for meet prep, and I really like having decent raw strength, and still lifting raw with Sheiko. The only complaint I have about Sheiko training is that it is kinda boring, and it can take up a fuck load of time if you are not diligent with getting in the gym and getting your shit done fast, and not taking extreme amounts of time between sets. I have about five months or a little less before my next meet, I want to be pulling over 600 by then and get my raw bench above 300, which it may already be at, I just need more chest and shoulder strength. my squat has progressed steadily, so, I just need to keep doing that. And also, I just gotta step my game up, work harder, and get shit done. Some pictures... Oh, and my first place cup picture!
