Our 1998 Ford Expedition suddenly feels VERY dated... I love what Ford is doing with interior design at the moment... I'd be happy to see the F150 pinch a few touches from this, such as the tray infront of the shifter, and the shelf on top of the dash...

I checked one out at the car show, they are very nice, we considered one, but the price is a "tad" more expensive then the F-150
They are also coming out with a extended version of it.

I'm hoping that by the time the 6.2 is in the F150, some of the touches on that dashboard have moved accross too...

I got a 2005 for the wife, she loves it!

I take it to the Home Depot every once in a while to get some shit thats bigger, it feels tight when you drive it, no rattles, no squeaks.

My only complaint is how much interior space there is for a big truck like that, there should be more.

Looks nice. I hear that it is 1.5 feet longer than the 2006 Expedition. I just bought a 2006 Expedition King Ranch. It's a great ride.

They have a Expedition XL or something that is similar to the Escalade and Suburban ESV one that is longer that is prob what you are thinking about it.
In preproduction it was called the Ford Everest. Kinda fill that Niche the Excursion didnt.

Seems to hold a lot of stuff over from the Lariat F-150s.

Was funny when I test drove a Ford 500... You could see shit in there that came from the F-150s.

except for the nav, it looks almost identical to the F150, methinks.

And isn't the Nav even an option for the Lariat 150s?

It wasn't for MY05... I may have swayed to the F150 if it were... But as it was, I bought a 2005 Tundra Double Cab.

    May have changed for MY06.

I checked their site: navigation is not an option on any F150.

I also saw something else, odd. Another knock I had against the F150 was no satellite radio in MY05. That appears to have changed for MY06, with the availability of Sirius from the factory. However, if you get Sirius, you cannot get the rear-seat DVD entertainment system. Now I know this is because Sirius takes up the AUX input on the stock head unit... But don't you think that someone entertainment-conscience to get the DVD system would also want sat radio? Seems counter-productive of Ford.

They have a navigation unit that looks about stock in the aftermarker. Didnt make sense to me that you cant have rear DVD and and satelite radio. The dealer said they can do both :dunno:
I still cant play an Ipod in my truck either :hs:

I never looked at all the options because I couldn't get a Reg Cab Lariat. Actually, I didn't care about options lol. I just wanted a Reg Cab w/ the 5.4L engine and could only find one dealership that hand them withing an 2 hours drive :o

I'm so use to the guy's putting the touch-screen DVD/LCD screens in their trucks that I though you could get one.

I do hate that my radio has an AUX button but was told there were no Aux plugs on the back that I could use to directly hook-up an MP3 player to my radio. I either have to use an R/F transmitter (most guy's are putting those in-line ones on their trucks) or swap in a new head unit. I got a factory 6 CD changer though... I don't really want to swap that out.

Ford uses a new "CAN-Bus" for the F150's 2004+. P.I.E. is a very reputable company, and they DO make an adaptor that lets you use the Aux button on the factory head unit to run any source you like (gives you a RCA input)

Actually, the additional length is more for storage. Great that I now have 8 seats, but there is barely storage for 2 people's luggage behind the rear seats. The 2007 Expedition is supposed to have extra 1.5 feet in the back specifically behind the rear seats for additional storage. Biggest complaint from current year buyers, according to my buddy at Ford.

Which is *exactly* what the Suburban/Yukon_XL is.

Except both the Suburban and Yukon XL are also available with a 3/4 frame/suspension/power-train... which Ford does not offer in the Expedition.

Actually, lots of small differences like the trays at the top of the dash, and the way the dash turns back in above the console, allowin space for a tray infront of the shifter (perfect spot to put the Ipod / cell phone etc) and the buttons on the spokes of the steering wheel rather than on the center of the wheel.

I'd love to see those details carried over to the F150 next year.
