This car is going to be a new low-end lincoln, slotted under the LS. It's awd or fwd. 3.5L v6.

The concept was fantastically detailed, and it looks like they managed to keep the overall idea, but remove all the really neat details from the production one. Fucking idiot beancounters.

The interior didn't suffer quite as much, but still got de-contented somewhat.

I don't have a pic of the production rear end, but the concept was pretty fucking hot. Hopefully they didn't screw this up. :hs:

Not a car I would ever want for me, but i was kind of hoping to get one for my wife. I still might.

I could see changing the frills for production, but they threw the whole body line off. On the concept, the top of the hood and trunk flow along the same line as the bottom of the windows. If you look at the production, there is no constant line. The hood and trunk come up too high.

    FAIL.

I think it's the grill and headlights that really bug me, and the lower fascia and foglights and stuff. They were so unique on the concept.

Now the car looks like 4 year old accord with a chrome grill.

I think their only excuse is that it will be a fairly cheap car, and they literally couldn't have all the good looking parts in there and meet their price point. The sheet metal probably couldn't deviate enough from the mazda 6 :hsugh:

I just got excited by the concept and thought that ford might start doing stuff right other than trucks/mustang/svt/crownvic :hs:

Lincoln is pretty much total shit right now, except for their interiors.
The LS is the only thing remotely cool, and it is much too old now. Not to mention they don't give it the GOOD v8s.

It's a real shame because Lincoln used to be the really innovative brand (the Mark VIII introduced the 4.6 DOHC motor, HID lights, Air suspension)

Well, the concept stang wasn't really doable. It's dimensions were way too wide, low, etc. It had 20" wheels, no back seat, yadda yadda. So that stuff HAD to change for production.

As for the styling of the car, I actually prefer the production model (except for the taillights)

This lincoln doesn't have DRAMATIC changes like the mustang did, just a billion tiny changes that add up to suckage.
