I am looking at purchasing a new car. I am looking in the 12-14 thousand dollar range. I have always liked the Dodge magnum r/t, but I do not know much other than what the online reviews have said. Does anyone have any opinions on the Magnum r/t?

    Yeah, don't get the SXT.

Search for Magnum or LX car forums online and check out what owners have to say.

Would you recommend anything else that compares in terms of size or power?

There isn't really anything else, it's in a class of it's own. Unless you want to seek out an old GM LT1 station wagon.

I had a Magnum RT for about 2 weeks

I decided to go for a GTO instead...I didn't need all the room the Magnum had....and I really wanted a stick

but they are pretty cool rides...especially if you need space but still want to be pretty quick

If I had gotten the RT or the SRT-8 I'm sure I still would have it. I actually loved everything about the car except for the mechanical issues it had. The lemon law turned out to be the best thing ever for me, but I would honestly consider another one... I really really liked the practicality of it. I now have a Subaru Outback XT 2.5i which I consider a worthy contender, if not a little bit smaller. It's sporty, all wheel drive, cheap to maintain, looks okay (not as good as the magnum IMHO), all in all a pretty on par replacement I think.

Had a Charger R/T, loved it. I wouldn't expect anything less from a Magnum.

    I wouldn't even bother looking at a V6 model...
