congrats on the ride. i'm not a bmw hater. i have a lot of appreciation for their cars. i'm still just getting used to this styling direction they decided to take, the 5 series included. the 6 series i think look really good, just the sedans i just can't seem to find any appeal in their style, inside and out. but i'm sure as a car to drive, they live up to bmw's reputation.

I still think they're damn ugly, but that's where the criticism stops. I'm sure driving it is a fantastic experience, as very nearly all BMWs are, ugly or not. Congrats on your purchase; you couldn't have done much better!

bmw's are great machines. my dad has a 530i, and i would have had a 330i, but bmw's are just too common around here. i like a little individuality, so i went with audi. congrats with the new car man. im sure you are happy with the change.

    Congrats.

How is it compared to the 528? I always thought the 2.8 was a little under powered. If it had been me i would have gone for the 530, nice pick up regardless.

I've never driven a 528, but I am very very surprised about the power that is in the 525. I mean it is no sports car, but with Steptronic shifting, if you need some more power, just throw it down in a lower gear and go. It definitely puts me in my seat.

and why didnt you get the 6 speed manual instead of an auto?

Yeah, The 530i was just a bit out of my price range. I'm still pretty young, so I am working my wait up. So in 3 years, I think I am going to shoot for the 550 with European Delivery.

I chose the auto because sitting in traffic with a 6 speed is not my favorite thing to do. I drove a 2000 Camaro Z28 for a long time before my explorer, and it was horrible sitting in DC traffic with it.

Umm yeah I did. Houses are at the min. for a Single Family home around $600,000. If I want a nice townhouse around $350-400,000. Putting down only $3000 for a lease for 36 months and the payments at ~$450 is awesome for a car like that.

Actually, My lease is up in June anyways, and I'll probably be buying a house then.

 That's actually a really good deal for a lease on a car that expensive. Sounds like you have your priorities somewhat straight, I guess I'm just used to the house prices in this area. :o

Well, how many cars can you name in its market segment (price range) that ARE better? Keep in mind I didn't say there were none better...
