More comparable than you'd think.
the AWD claim on the S60 is a little misleading... it's 90/10 in most situations, as opposed to the 50/50 of the S4.
Audi > For... errr Volvo...
Does it honestly really matter until wheel slippage happens?
not at all i was just pointing that out
The volvo looks waaaaaaaaaay better
People will put down Volvo because they think it's not a "real" AWD system. That fuckin car screams regardless.
Red is a bad color for Audis for some reason. It looks bulky and cheap with red.
Volvo takes pride in its new Four-C (Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept) system, which combines an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system with a semiactive, continuously adjustable suspension system. Four-C is comprised of an impressive array of sensors (longitudinal and lateral acceleration, roll and pitch, wheel position, steering wheel position, engine output and brakeforce), new shocks and a powerful microcomputer to process all the information. The heart of the system, though, is a new valve made by Öhlins (a Swedish suspension manufacturer) that lets the shocks change their damping up to 500 times each second.
I don't care how fast/good handling/reasonably good looking your Volvo is, it's not going to really impress that many people.
In that respect Audi > Volvo, despite the fact most of the population would have no clue why the "A4" they see has such big stock wheels.
Doesnt make it any less of a car. It is a very impressive car, I just dont think it's getting enough publicity.
the chrome mirrors and ugly front grill don't help.
I don't mind the grille... but agreed... chrome mirrors are Unless its an RS4 or RS6... in which case it can be as ugly as it wants cuz it has the balls to back it up.
The Volvo is considerably cheaper. They aren't directly comparable.
RICA ECU bumps the S60R to 330hp/340tq
How much is the volvo? like $35,000? Audi is like $42-45,000
as a Volvo driver I prefer the Volvo but the Audi is quite good
Can you not read the fucking pricing info at the top of the thread?
Meh go eff yourself. I can't read.
The Volvo as pictured is around $42,000
I drove one at the Ford Centennial. Kicked ass. the stability control is pretty cool and the selectable suspension dampening is fun to play with
I really want to see dyno sheets comparing those two.
From those numbers, it looks like the volvo hits its peak torque earlier. I bet it is fun to drive. It's too bad they didn't go for that one extra cylinder.
The S4 doesn't have balls? What did I miss?
Why? Th Audi is a V8 meaning it hsould hit massive torque almost immediatly...
Audi V8 has gobs of torque right from the get-go, and loves to be revved.
I've read that it's a very smooth output all throughout the RPMs.
No no it does... but its not enough to be able to be ugly and still be
