I get this error for a regular user but if I place them as an admin it works just fine. It only does this with Word and Outlook 2003. The rest of the applications do not exhibit this error such as excel, powerpoint, infopath and the rest of the office applications. Has to be a permission issue but not sure what it is. I googled around for this and tried a couple things from Experts Exchange but these didnt work such as setting the user as an admin, log in and open the program, close it then set them back as a regular user again.

Any ideas? This is Windows 2003 Standard R2

Is the "regular user" a terminal services user?

I can only think of the normal.dot file.

Barring that, open up the entire C: drive and see if that helps. If it does, try to pinpoint what file/dir you really need to open up.
