IIRC, ball joints and tranny. Aside from that I have heard plenty of good things about those trucks.

They were still doing the 5.9 V8 in those trucks right?

    yeah its hemmy.

Will the truck last long up into the 250k-300k km with no rebuild on the engine.

I want to keep thsi truck as long as possible just for winter.

ball joints are cheap but tranny as usually is pretty pricey.

if its the hemi, check plugs and cylinders. the first round of hemis were iffy.

trans should be fine, keep and eye out for brake rotors and front suspension getting bad.

Sorry, I've never owned a truck so I'm not sure if it's a hemi or not 5.7l ($80canadian/tank)

    I have a 00... Its a 5.9 CTD though

Pretty sure you gotta watch for ball joints, loose steering and tranny issues. Expect shitty fuel milage during the winter too

    Buy a diesel!

hemi started in 02. 02 trucks were the new bodystyle, so some 3rd gen dodges (02-08) came with the 5.9 magnum early on. then they switched to the 3.7 v6 4.7 v8 and 5.7 v8

I thought the hemi was only the 5.7. I'm pretty sure of that (though I have been known to be wrong before).

I thought the 2002-2004 only offered the 4.7 or 5.9 engines. So even with the new body style of 2002, the hemi was not offered until later(~2005).

the 4.7s are decent motors, just prone to head gasket issues, the transmissions are still iffy not as bad as previous years tho.

what rear does it have? 3.92 or 3.55? lsd? try and have someone check them out, the clip retainers are known to grenade tearing the gears and rear end up
