Car is still pretty solid at 90k miles, but you'll probably be in for new shocks/struts, new bushings, etc.

I had an 03 330i that was at just under 90k (had it since 10k miles) and when I totalled it last weekend it was still in fabulous shape and had given us very few problems (worst of them was the two back window mechanisms went out, but they were under $50 each to fix myself.

+ power steering leaks, rear springs sometimes fail if you live where they salt roads, rear subframe assembly can tear, iirc real "sport" package cars have orange needles for the dials, though that might just be zhp cars.

Friends E46 had the rear subframe tear out from the car when taking a turn...apparently its a common problem.
