Picked up at factory in Detroit on November 18, 1999. Drive the heck out of it and love every mile. Just under 16,000 miles to date. Minor mods include K&N filters, smooth intake tubes, rear muffler delete (Snake Oyl sub assembly), and Porsche brake deflectors (ironic, ain't it?) Oh yeah, and built-in radar detector. :big grin: Dyno'ed at 436.1 rwhp and 483.1 rwtq. Way fun!

The only thing I don't like about your Viper is the wheels. I like the GTS-ACR Wheels though...

    Sweet car though...

Thanks! The wheels are 18" and get generally decent reviews. The problem is keeping them clean with the stock brake pads. They screech like a mofo and throw dust like a dump truck on a gravel road. The ACR/GT2 wheels (BBS honeycomb) are trick looking, but the owners say they are a serious bitch to keep even slightly clean. These are probably the easiest wheels to clean on a Viper. Of course, who really cares about clean wheels? :naughty:

It's nice to see owners driving the cars they were meant to be (at the track) rather than be a garage queen. Kudos bro!

Thanks! I belong to the local club and there are 36 Vipers in it. I would bet that no more than four of them have over 5,000 miles - even if they are five years old. I bought this car to DRIVE it and have a very tough time leaving it in the garage unless it is snowing or hailing. I have made well over 100 passes with it at the strip, taken it on two road courses, and driven four autocrosses with it (not the greatest on AX due to high torque and roughly 3400 pounds). I also road trip it when I can, having tacked on another 400 miles last Friday. Here is another shot from the drag strip. The track official took the picture and said he thought I lifted my front wheels (highly doubtful). The picture is blurry, but actually looks kinda cool I think. Thanks again for the comments.

The Viper is great at the autoX if you run R compound tires. One of our local autocrossers 2-3 years back won the Solo II nationals in his Viper. He's also been the regional divisional winner in several other cars, including CRXs, Sentra SE-Rs, etc.. awesome driver.

Under a controlled driver, the high hp/torque vehicles are great at the autocross. You just have to learn to feather the throttle :)

Where are those pics taken at the track? That looks a lot like Ennis (Texas Motorplex)... and I remember a black Viper running last Friday.

That track is actually Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas. Fun track!
