The jeep is getting the motor welded in and a cross-member made at a local shop right now. I don't have the welder, or the know how yet to do that. It will be out next week. All thats left is a new radiator, drive shafts, and figure out the power steering pump and shes on the road.

After the jeep is drivable and insured the truck will get the build including all that is listed as well as a new built transmission and 4k stall. The truck has been on two power tours (stock both times), and will be on this years PT also.

fucking nice dakota, wish i could have found a decent dakota in my price range when i was looking for a truck. They hold there value better than rams for sure.

A friend of mine had a black one dropped with a performance rebuilt engine and nitrous. It was a crazy ride.

so the dakota crew only pops there heads up when they see "R/T" and thats it... well might as well try to whore my truck out agian...

ive got a 2004 single cab with the 4.7 V8 5 speed 2WD, traction is not an option in 1st, tho that could have something to do with the shitty goodyears these come with. nothing really to look at yet just a flows so far, got a K&N waiting to be put on and ive been eye balling that drop too but i think for my budge im gonna go with a bel tech 2-4 for $449 (including shocks).

I really like dakota's. I used to have one ages ago before I got my first mustang. It was a good truck. Anyone know if the dakota mailing list is still around?

thanks, its a work in progress. i almost got a electric blue R/T single cab, they have alot of power out of the box but i just cant get over the automatic, the 4.7 5 speed just feels faster out of the hole and is more fun to drive (IMO) but i still know to look the other way when a R/T rolls on me :o ... for now :x:

nicce i had a 96 dakota when i first got my license, 318 extcab had it dropped reworked the whole motor, had nice set of wheels and tires... was about to do front end work to it, ended up snapping a tie rod while going down a backroad, 45 into a phone pole then a tree then up and spinning in the road till i hit a tree on the other side... very sad end to such a fun truck

and oh yea, i got around 18-21mpg

I have been shopping for one of these trucks forever, they are hard as hell to find. I too love the 4.7 5-speed. Here is my last truck, the same combo but a ram...
