So, moms asked me what I wanted for Xmas. She usually spends like a $1000 or less. I'm kinda broke right now, but I've been wanting to get a monitor to go with a PC a friend gave me (2 ghz). The monitor(s) is/are to be used for Eclipse Application development. And general whoring. Can't forsee myself playing games for a long time, but eventually I might play some. A 2405FPW is $960. Two x 1905FPW is $640 (320 each).

So... which to go with? For a dual monitor setup I would have to get a cheapo video card to go along with the dualies. And lets face it... a 1 x 24 would eventually turn into a 2 x 24.

    Pixel wise, 1920 x 1200 is what I'd get with one 24". 2560 x 1280 is what I'd get with 2 x 19". 2 x 19" is $320 cheaper.

On a dual setup I would have Eclipse in one window, and docs/test runs/IM in another. But I could fit all that, and have a really useable exapnded Eclipse GUI on the one 24"...

    Thoughts?

I have dual 1905FPs, it is VERY nice.

a 2405fpw would be a downgrade IMO :dunno:

I love my dual monitors. However, I could never use a monitor at less than 1600x1200, so really for me it would come down to resolution.

Maybe I can get a 24 now, and eventually another 19. Then another.
