A friend is putting a half page ad in the phone book, and asked me to take pics. Cause the phone book guy with this 40D and kit lens didn't meet his expectations. Deadline is TODAY, so we spent all night to get what we thought was decent. These were taken at about 11pm-2am.

It's my first time doing this, just like most of the shit that others have been asking me to do:mamoru:

I will NEVER drink TsingTao again....

#1 I dont like the orange smoked windows in the rear, white balance seems a little off (even the table cloths are yellow/orange, but it may be what you were going for). and I dont like that the table on your left doesn't have the stuff in the same place as all the other tables. (aka the upside down soup cup and the right side up goblet). the glare on the first right chair is distracting my eye, but this is a phonbebook print so I don't think it needs to be so critical.

#2 hit with the ninja :) but the bottle seems a little OOF toward the top, but that may be because of the 2.8 aperture, perhaps, if possible, edit the very right white object thats very right to the picture to a more
dull grey like to the right of the glass about 1".... cloning maybe?

but i like the shots, overalls.

    1: I don't do interior photography

2: OOF, mad-dirty highlights, don't spill, use a macro lens, use baby oil on the bottle.

The orange glow from the windows, not too much I can do about it :o. But I think I took care of everything else you've suggested. We moved the goblet and teacup cause it seemed to be a bit distracting/harsh right in the foreground.

For the second pic, I haven't gotten around to noise ninja yet. But I did reduce the background brightness.

No matter how center I try to get it, it always feels crooked.

Yes, it could, and I thought so too. But for what it was being used for, they needed a horizontal portrait.

    Baby oil, noted.

Macro lens, we had a 100mm 2.8 but didn't even bother to realize we needed something like that :o.

I second that! After ~20 people that kept wanting to drink with the American and 2 hours of "Bottoms Up" I think I'll pass on TsingTao.

I have no experience with interior architecture shots, but they look good to me. :wiggle:

    Wrongo

This is just a quick example, with a little more time it'll look more realistic, but this is a simple select, saturation and lightness adjustment, no painting/etc, had I sat and feathered edges and made things look more realistic it would never be known that it's different.

AND it contrasts with the darker color behind the shades better

but I dont have the time to do that at the moment this was a 2 minute thing to give you an idea... i think it looks a gazillion times better with a more natural color outside lighting, althought it should have been darker so I probably would hit it with a black brush on a low opacity to just tint it.

 on the chair glare removal a ZILLION tons better

That looks pretty good, but I think it looks a bit too desaturated.

Here's a color corrected version. I took FindersKeepers version without thinking so the windows look grey.

*Edit* it looks a little green now that I posted it.

Second looks pretty good, but green up above.

Yeah, I redid the second one. But the tablecloths are still a little white in it.

The HDR was a joke. Since I'm bored waiting for Ike to come through, you're my entertainment. :wavey:

The HDR looks like there's shag carpeting.

The streetlight in the first window on the left is distracting.
