Both of them done by me....they're both a little off, but considering they were done in a mirror, I think they turned out pretty good.

Absolute cake. I tried over X-mas, but the needle was dull....got a new one last night from a different place, and it slid right through...only problem I had was the original bar was too short, so I had to take it out and redo it...put a tongue ring in for now, and it's doing great. No swelling, none of the basic early signs of rejection, no pain.....nothing but goodness.

I never claimed to be a model, did I? My looks aren't the issue here, I know I'm ugly. I'm just showing off the piercings.

Oh yeah....Lebaron, it's probably not the best, but it's holding up pretty well....just a tongue ring, but it's all I had that was long enough to use, but still sterile...

And Cherryfire, yes, needle and jewelry were both sterile. Needle was still sealed, as was the jewelry, which was soaked in Bactine for an hour before the piercing.

what would soaking the jewelry in bactine do? if it was in a sterile package then you just contaminated it by doing that.

The needle was left alone. The jewelry was in a little zip-lock baggie, so I wanted to make sure it was clean. I'm not just going to put a piece of jewelry in if I'm not sure how many people have touched it.

EDIT:Guess I should've been more specific about the sealing on the jewelry. The package was closed, it still had the labeling and everything in it, and the guy at the shop said it was sterile....but I wanted to make sure.

ziplock baggies are NOT sterile. bactine is NOT a sterilant. jewelry should have been in a sterile pouch with an sterility indicator on it. should look something like these....

Ouch, I'd need someone to pierce me, I couldn't do it myself. You got guts...

  18. I've pierced my nose, hand, lip and hood before. It hurts less I find when you do it your self. I think it's the thought of all that money you've saved. hehe I can't wait to get my pre sterilized 18g needles soon. I'll get to redo my hood and nose. Maybe my eyebrow if I'm feeling saucy.

  19. Oh yeah and my belly button I've done before and will do again. Plus I've never had any of them get infected or reject.

a hood should be pierced with a larger gauge if i remember correctly

  21. Like 16 or 14? My buddy ordered 50 14g needles so I might just bug one off her, if thats the guage that would work?

NOTHING should be pierced at 18g. hoods are a minimum of 14g although 12 or 10 is preferred
