Dunno if any of you remember my series of shots i'm doing on film noir...

Here are two more - These are still just portraits using the lighting and processing that I want to include in the whole series. Shots on location with sets and backgrounds and such will be coming in the next couple weeks.

    Gimme some feedback:

I like it. But isn't the light supposed to be more painted?

This was a quick & dirty I did while here at work. Quick smoke addition from a Flickr page.

LOVE the smoke! Where'd you get it? Link?

Not too hot on the rest of the editing. I like the concept though!

    thanks!

I really like that edit a lot, actually. The shot looked great from the get-go but it gave it a little edge.

    my version:

a little lighter on the vignetting and such, and did the smoke up to where I like it.

Deeprun, I owe you for this one! Really appreciate it.

Nice work. Agree on the addition of smoke. That makes the pic a little more lively. 1st pic her face seems a little blotchy on her left side, and I wish her ring was on straighter. Other than that, which is VERY minor, great pics!

I don't have the high-res source like you do, but it looks like you could fudge it in PS. Or find a photo of a ring online and use that instead.

Sorry dude, didn't mean to spoil it for you. That thing must be heavy to keep falling to one side like that. ;)

Easily fixed in PS though. :bigthumb:

yeah, i think the skin stuff was caused by me playing with the [email protected] reds too much. Her skin wasn't super clear.

I'm sure I can smooth that out...

How bouts the composition and such? Does it belong with the other ones?

I feel like the other one had a more "classic" look whereas this one has a more modern look. Maybe it's just me but the other one works a lot stronger with the film noir style because of how her hair is, and the pearl necklace. The first one makes me think of the 1920's or 30's where the second one looks too new.
