Replaced a stock fuel pump about 10 months ago. Last week, my engine kills while I'm going 70 on the highway. Turns out the fuel pump failed within 10 months of operation....I believe the first episode was related to clogged fuel filters. The second one is purely defective. Are there warranties on car parts installed by auto shops? The shop we got it done at 10 months ago is now closed down, so we have no luck going back to them.

The only thing I can find on the failed pump that the mechanic gave to me is a bar code with "XL2UAD" in bold lettering, not able to find a name on it.

    Thanks for the help

Well usually when I see my needle get down to a quarter tank left, I fill up. I didn't know this would be a problem.

    Not true.

Advance sells Bosch, which carry a lifetime warranty.

And as long as you get a Delphi, Delco, motorcraft,Bosch fuel pump, it will be fine. You don't HAVE to get one from the dealer.
