They were trying to stop a guy on a bicycle when he turned around and shot both of them in the head. One in the eye and one in the jaw.

Now I dont know the specifics yet, but i'm thinking if two officers get shot in the head they had to have made a mistake somewhere? Maybe the guy was just a great shooter :dunno:

I'm hoping this doesnt make our police even more militant now :sad2:

Either a very skilled shooter or just incredibly lucky. Although I wouldn't describe it as luck really. It says they are expected to live, which is good. I wonder what caliber gun it was?

I'm guessing the one officer shot in the eye must have been hit at an angle, and the bullet exited his eye socket and did not damage his brain or anything. Just a guess. Watch it be a .22 match pistol or something...

Still want to open carry now? :noes:

How much you want to bet the gun was purchased from Badger? (something like 90% of MKE gun crimes were made from guns bought from there!)

Actually I read a report in a LEO newsletter that discussed the results of an experiment where they took total gun n00bs, and aside from teaching them the four rules, gave these n00bs zero firearms instruction. They had these individuals conceal their guns in various ways. Tucked in waistband, hidden behind back, etc. Targets were standard photo-type BG-with-gun targets, IIRC.

Then at ranges from 2-10 yards they sounded the buzzer and had the individuals draw/present and fire 1-3 shots, as fast as possible as accurately as possible.

The results were surprising to the LEOs: More than 60% of rounds fired were head shots, and most were delivered in under 1.5 seconds. At the longer ranges COM shots became more dominant. But esp. at 2 yards, the people fired surprisingly tight groups of three in the head.

Cops didn't expect that kind of accuracy or point of aim from untrained people. One of the hypotheses was that since the folks were NOT trained to fire CoM, they employed point shooting and therefore fired where they were looking, which is obviously the head.

    Just something to consider.

This BG could've been a steel killa... or just a noob that was scared or something and point-fired where he was looking. :dunno: :hs:

The purchaser was already charged in federal court i believe, before the shooter was.
