1st manipulation with the Tablet "Bamboo Fun" *snws*.

    Girl in bikini ahead.

I posted that I got a new Bamboo fun for my birthday on the 2nd.

This is the first chance I've sort of gotten to do anything major with it...

I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS SORT OF THING BEFORE, I realize there is a lot wrong with the photo still, things missing that should be put back, and there are parts of her body in-correct but for my first try it was fun.

But then I got busy at work and had to stop for now :o

I know its still ultranewb level but once i get the hang of it, this will be fun...

Next is to make a skinny woman fat!

    it's awful.

You completely destroyed the background. The windows are crooked and missing pieces and bent around, her L hand looks like a monsters claw, and all shading and definition have been removed from her stomach and R leg.

Not busting your balls here, but maybe you should try to learn the wacom OR digital retouching instead of both at the same time...

The liquify tool itself can take a crazy long time to get right....

shadow around her boob/armpit looks obvious too.

    How bout

'That bitch is WAY too fat for swimsuit modeling'.

That's pretty cool I suppose. I don't know what it could really be used for. Maybe show us another picture that you have spent some time on :dunno:

    It looks ridiculously fake.

I think what really bugs me most, is her right eye not being lit.

    I'm trying to fix that....
    and learn it...

The tablet was mostly for drawing but figured i'd give a shot at somethign like this, I know theres people that get paid to do this stuff and it WAS sort of fun but I need more time then just 20 minutes on something to get it looking the way its intended or the way I want it, and more realistic

and yeah Norcal.... Same thing here, I saw that before the editing

Everyone can liquefy and tuck bulges in, it's not that hard. But as with most things, the devil is in the details. Preserving the background, outline of the model, the connective areas like the lat/armpit area, and overall continuity of bulk distribution are all critical and take time to master.

You narrowed the neck, a lot and it makes it look long and lanky. Lower the head if you want to make the neck that narrow. Evenly adjust the face, the camera left side is much more adjusted than the right. The upper torso remains the same size as the original and throws the photo off. Adjust the breast size, even though to made her more trim, she still has the breasts of a larger woman. And I'm not talking about size, I'm talking about shape.

You fucking mangled the fingers on her left (camera right) hand and somehow her forearms are even wider than they were in the original. Thighs are wobbly and unrealistic. Maintain hips and natural form of legs when you're post processing, eg. thighs aren't a single size all the way down, they taper. Also make sure you maintain the outline of the area you're working on, they're blurred into ridiculousness right now. Work on removing her cankles... Dead giveaway.

If this really was your first go, I'd say it's ok.

Probably better than most people can do on their first attempt.

which sounds like the point of this thread.

I think what needs to be mentioned here is you don't need to add what isn't already there...just move what is there somewhere else. Liquify is the tool of the trade but isn't the end-all tool.

Use it to get your model to where you want her then clean up the mess. Don't add sausage fingers in and refrain from editing the skin so it looks like a paint can.
