A&P 1st attempt at product photo v.possiblefail

    shoot through umbrella camera right 285vh
    camera left theres a white piece of cardboard to bounce some light

    loaded in cs3 and healed where the sheets of paper met, thats it

    You need a light up top (or one on the left) to get rid of that shadow.

    i was playing around with a flashlight, tripod and a dark room and did some of these product shots recently

    IA thread hijack...

    slimeball, all of your photos are underexposed and the colors look like you're shooting in Adobe RGB and saving in sRGB (they're washed out)

    um...i'm gonna drop into this thread also. i did this shot a while back, 2 lights...cross lit. sorry about the dirty table but i was not expecting anything nice.

    i left the wb in auto, damn :o

    they looked decently sharp in full res, i think jpeg and resizing might have messed them up?

    they're pretty blah. the pics look pretty soft, and have no depth. exposure seems to be on the bright side. why didn't you adjust the flash brightness? at least there's no dust on the subjects. :o

    there are infinite ways to do product shots. the easiest way is to use a white background and various light sources. the key is to find a way to soften and diffuse the light.

    some things you can do. don't shoot at f/18. shoot at a slightly larger aperature. for those items you shot, f/8 would suffice.

    lighting - needs more power. ideally another one to the left to help eliminate the shadow but if you use a better reflector, you might get by. just a few I took last week
