Uh, they have never let us smoke in our room... we have to clean it every Thursday and it would smell like ass if I smoked in my room... I can't believe your buddies are bitching... tell them to join the Marine Corps and get a tude adjustment.

we have inspections every week too, they cover up the smell somehow. i dont smoke so i dont have to worry about the smell in my room. there goes a Marine starting an argument as usual, saying they are better...... all i asked was a simple question. thanks for your time though

EDIT: btw i am in the Honor Guard.... please dont tell me you have it hard, trust me we have it a lot harder... 1/32nd of an inch off on the items on the uniform and ur in trouble, fuck up firing party on the funeral, your out there all evening practicing, uniform looks like shit ur smoked for a few hours... its not easy at all, but believe what you want, im sure you guys are more bad ass

I'm pretty sure we can't smoke in our rooms. I know we weren't allowed when we were housed in WWII Era wooden barracks. That could be bad :)

I do not think your 1SG has the right to do that, Your room is your house, the only time they can say any thing is if your roomate dose not smoke. Call IG and ask them. just do not give your name, or unit till you find out if leagal

It's always got to be Army vs. Marines doesn't it?

I wouldn't consider Marine "discipline" to be actual discipline, more like blind followers.

smoking is banned in the room because it is a fire hazard. thats why you can't have hot plates or burning candles. C'mon you know that in every service, in every unit, in every squad there is some IDIOT who sleeps with cigarettes in his mouth.

Secondly there is a rule that you must smoke 50ft from any and all government buildings TO INCLUDE barracks. Call me a barracks lawyer but i know.

On my base, we can't smoke on the base except on the 3 smoke pads (concrete pavilions) we have. Our CO wants to get rid of them, but the CMC smokes, and he makes sure we keep them.
