    who would ever do this? Matter of fact i think 1rm on anything is pretty fucking gay. Unless your getting paid or a world class Pl'er. Its a waste of time and your not gonna grow from it. More likely to get hurt

    I did 501 with a double denim curl shirt - i've taken 555 off a 1-board with a cheat swing, tho. i'm sure i'll have it by the end of the year

    So only world class PL'ers should ever do heavy singles?

    I personally like to work up to a 5/3rm and then go for a heavy single because I want to and its motivating. I agree that you should do more rep based work (3-5 range) in order to build more mass and get stronger at the same time but I think you stating you should not do 1rm on any exercises ever is pretty off.
