nice. 26mp on the 5d2 seems almost unmanageable.

And dont forget it will likely have some kind of a problem that will show itself to working pros and Canon will ignore for a year and a half telling them that they're just using it wrong.

But dont worry cause eventually they will admit the problem was there all along and they never told the pros that they were using it wrong and they shouldnt have gone to Nikon.

Well we know Canon will still be around in 20 years... :)

If those specs are mostly true, and AF works then I'd be very tempted to pick one up.

This is typical of the office equipment companies I work with on a daily basis as well. Pisses me off when I have to make something work that simply can't and the manufacture will give me some BS and tell me its a feature.

Then a year later they admit the problem and give us an actual solution.

I guess Canon learned from their office equipment branch cause that is exactly what they did with the MkIII.

The original answers were the focus system is just so advanced you're not using it properly. Then it was oh there is a problem and we need to do a recall. Then when it still wasnt fixed it was back to you must be doing something wrong. Then finally another recall and admission of a problem.

Lost a lot of shooters with that crap. I hope they dont do it again.

Most of that seems pretty plausible except I think they'll keep it 1.3 crop.

Not because they don't have the technology to go FF, but going FF means they have to redesign a lot of stuff, and a number of pro shooters I've talked to have said "the 1.3 crop is fine".

A number of the pros who have switched to Nikon FFs say "i like the viewfinder and the bokeh, but I miss that bit of extra reach".

    So we'll see.

1ds is technically the flagship, but they're totally different cameras. Usually the 1d is the better overall camera in terms of performance, but the 1ds is FF and higher resolution

    1d is more of a PJ/sports
1ds is more of a studio cam
