What do you guys think of it? VW dealer wants $9995 for it, obviously I'll talk them down a fair amount. From what I can tell, it's in great condition. The only thing that bothers me is that it has 162k miles tacked on.

What other AWD semi-luxurious cars are out there that I can purchase for a decent price used?

get the 2000+ models with the haldex awd. its a better system. I also wouldnt buy it for $10k... S70's in general sell for 1/2 that on ebay and volvospeed/swedespeed/turbobricks/etc..

I bought a 98 S70 Fwd for 8,000 58000 miles, but if your looking for AWD I'd go with a subaru Legacy GT

Volvo's use Mitsubishi turbo's, so replacing that one shouldnt be too expensive, and its relatively easy to get to. 162k is just breaking in that 5-cyl, so dont worry there. Just make sure to have the tranny serviced regulary (just like any autobox of that mileage). If the car is clean, then I would say have at it...

:werd: you do your regularly scheduled maintenance and you can keep the car for 200k+ miles.
