The project is going to be a turbo car... Details will be listed during the build so you'll know what's what...

    The project...

    Getting it home...

Gutting it out and getting it ready for the Chassis shop...

    Everything out...
    http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q275/RReeiiKKoo/Bad%20SRT/653674ae.jpg

While the car is at the chassis shop... The fuel tank and water tank need to be fabricated...

Special thanks to PBMF for the fabrication of the fuel cell and water tank... The fuel cell is 15 gallon and the water tank is 10 gallon...

    Fabrication of the fuel cell...
    [IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG]

Fabricating the sump of the fuel cell...
    [IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG]

The water tank is going to be 10 gallons like stated before but in order to use all 10 gallons to help cool the intercooler... The water tank is going to be fitted with a RULE 3700 pump... The water tank will also have -24 AN fittings welded onto it a long with the intercooler to move the water as quickly as possible with the least amount of restriction...

    Rule 3700 Pump
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Now fabrication of the water tank...

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Now fabricating the -24 feed to for the Rule 3700 pump...

Fabrication of the feed tube to the tank...
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Now to make the stand for the Rule 3700 pump in the tank so it doesn't jolt around ...

    Fabrication of the stand...
    [IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Next for the water tank all we did was cut a 8inch hole in the top to feed ice on the top... And use a marine water tank cap to seal it off...
    [IMG][IMG]

For the top of the fuel cell... Chassis werks makes a cap you can weld on...

    [IMG][IMG]

Also welded on was a roll over vent and a return line all in -10...

The water tank completed with 1 -24AN feed... 1 -24AN Return... And 1 -10AN rollover vent...

Both tanks completed side by side comparison...
    [IMG][IMG]

Now you're probally wondering why such a huge water tank? Why so big AN fittings?

The intercooler is a PT3000... 4in inlet and outlet with v-bands... Stock they have -20AN fittings on it... But those will be cut off and -24AN's will be welded on...

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Thanks again to PBMF for the switch panel...

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Thanks to twistedstang for bringing his wheel and tire to help with what backspacing I need...

For the shifter, 4 nuts were welded into the trans tunnel so you can bolt down the shifter without needing a second body...

The cage is officially done... The ONLY thing left for the cage is to put 3/4 bar in the funny car cage... Then it will be 100%

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Just messing around with placement of the intercooler... Want to put it under the dash... But looks like it will be placed in the back...
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

People were asking why bars were going straight to the upper torque boxes...

What is done is a plate is welded on the torque box and then tied into the cage like so...

Who/What/Where is "PBMF"? I need a custom fuel cell built and the only places around here are limiting me to big square tanks. I need something "custom" shaped to fit in the trunk.

I will get them from the owner of the car and PM you. It's going in a 300ZX Convertible, in the trunk where the spare tire sits. I was tasked with sourcing someone who could custom build a cell since I am helping out with the build on the side.
