I am in the market for a "beat around" SUV and stumbled upon this add for a 1990 Ford Bronco II.

65,000 miles on a remanufactured engine. New engine installed 3 years ago. It has a valid inspection that expires 2007.

Could someone please tell me what it means to have a "remanufactured engine?" Should I trust this car? Price is $3,000 negotiable. If someone could give me questions to ask the seller about the engine to get more info I would be thankful. Thanks.

sounds rebuilt. witch means new bearings, new piston rings, heads cleaned and inspected. I would ask to clarify the "reman" statement, how far was it remanufactured? just the short block? or the entire engine?

Reman = rebuilt in a production facility, not a shop

Overall, if you were to go and drive this vehicle and it drives & looks great....would you purchase? What would you offer the owner if he said the price was negotiable?

Yea, I wouldn't pay $3,000. Since the car is inspected....and if it runs well....I would be willing to throw down $1,500 cash.
