I had one back in university. Mine had the 200R4 overdrive tranny and so actually got pretty decent gas mileage. Worst parts were that it is geared really high in the rearend and has a gutless 305/307.

Do a 350 swap and put in a decent set of gears and it should go pretty good.

    It's a G-Ride.

You can pimp it....or you can throw a 455 in it...or both...

Total POS car...looks pimp but total POS car. Had one as my first car with a V6 in it and I haven't had a US made car since and don't ever plan to again. Should have been called the Gutless. Doors sag and are easy cars to steal. You can make one look pimp as hell and I still LOVE the style. Could make a decent sruiser but you still have the easy to steal problem.

shove in a 350, or if you want to keep the milage, just stick gears a carb and headers on the 305, as well as a shift kit for trany.

There are alot of cars that are easy to steal, and I don't worry much about my G body getting stolen. I have 312K on mine, engine never been cracked open. It runs great, although I am in the process of planning an engine swap. Doors still shut like the day I got it, the car was owned first by my grandmother. Bought it brand new in 1986. I have owned Japanese cars, and had problems with every last one, and yet, my US made cars (REAL US made, not outsourced) keep on going.

Nobody steals G-Bodys anymore... unless its on hydros with daytons and has a metal flake paint job.

    I'd pimp it.
